Intelligent Information Interfaces
Researchers, designers and practitioners from all over the world will gather to debate the future in terms of learning and new technologies.
I3 is a European initiative for the future of the Information Society created in 1996 to explore visionary, human-centred interactive systems for communities of people in their everyday activities. Currently three research programmes, Connected Communities, Inhabited Information Spaces and Experimental School Environments, are ongoing.
This year's event will address some of the following questions:'Ubiquitous computing' and the 'disappearing computer' are likely to be part of the tomorrow's scenario: what does that actually mean? Into what will the computer disappear? What are the technological challenges? And what are the gains and losses in terms of social interaction?
What is the future of the web? What contribution can ancient and complex cultures, such as that of India, make to technological development?
These topics and others will be addressed in a series of 14 workshops and side activities.
