ACCRETE project workshop

The EU-funded ACCRETE project will be hosting an interdisciplinary workshop in Nice, France, from 29 May to 3 June 2017.

The workshop, entitled ‘Accretion and Early Differentiation of the Earth and Terrestrial Planets’ will focus on, but will not be limited to, the following topics:

- Chemistry of small bodies in the early solar system and their relation to meteorites
- Early dynamos in small bodies
- Dynamical models of terrestrial planet formation and evolution of the Earth-Moon angular momentum
- Moon formation models
- Core-mantle differentiation
- Delivery of volatile elements, including water
- Nature and timing of the "late veneer"
- Consequences of impacts
- Geodynamics in early terrestrial planets including the onset of the geodynamo, mantle convection and plate tectonics.
- Geophysics of extra-solar Earths and super-Earths

Young scientists are particular encouraged to attend, with limited funding from the project available to support their attendance.
