The course aims to provide an overview of leishmaniasis including such aspects as principles of parasitism.

This course will provide participants with an overview of leishmaniasis, namely: host-parasite interactions, biology of the parasite, factors influencing geographic distribution and epidemiology, host genetics and susceptibility to leishmaniasis, immunology, treatment, prevention and vaccine development. The course is ideally suited to persons working or studying in the field of tropical medicine, public health, and vaccine development who wish to expand and broaden their knowledge of the field. A maximum of 20 participants will be selected to attend this five-day, full-time training course. The course is run by the MuLeVaClin Project which is funded by the European Commission’s FP7 Cooperation Work Program for Health.
