The current trends in quality evaluation mechanisms of libraries' electronic resources will be presented and analysed at a two-day event being held in Patras, Greece, on 15 to 16 May 2000.

Entitled 'Electronic resources: Quality evaluation mechanisms', the event is organised by the Library and Information Service of the University of Patras in cooperation with the British Council of Greece.

Topics that will be discussed in plenary sessions and workshops include: quality in digital libraries, performance indicators for library electronic services, collection mechanisms for qualitative and quantitative statistical data, electronic services performance and usage evaluation, and the planing and development of library electronic services.

Librarians and information experts, especially those that have developed electronic services, are expected to attend the event. The aim of the workshop is to transfer to the Greek libraries the European experience and knowledge in the fields of electronic resources evaluation mechanisms, and also to promote current and future digital libraries development efforts in Greece.
