Looking at how industrial relations will figure in the building and shaping of the new Europe is top of the bill at the forthcoming industrial relations workshop 'Industrial relations and European integration' taking place at the university of Crete on 11 to 16 September.

Academics from all over Europe will be speaking on a variety of related issues such as 'the Economic performance of national bargaining systems and its implications for European Monetary Union' 'labour market regulation and industrial relations institutions: towards erosion or a European model' and 'new social compromises on employment: beyond concession bargaining'.

The conference organisers claim that its overall aim is 'to explore and analyse various attempts to regulate European labour markets and look into processes of participation, collective bargaining and social dialogue in a European context. Overall, to approach the Europeanisation process of labour relations and unions.'For further information, please contact;
