AquaNES Final Dissemination Event - Prospects for natural and engineered treatment processes in the water sector.

On 9 April 2019 AquaNES will present innovations in combined natural and engineered processes in water treatment systems (cNES).
The event offers various interactive formats
• to learn how cNES can help water and wastewater utilities to adapt to challenges driven by climate change, legal developments and public attitudes
• to interact with operators of cNES and share experiences
• to get insight into the wider benefits of cNES and
• to discuss about prospects for and barriers to application

AquaNES pursues the concept of integrating nature-based elements into solutions for water management challenges. These solutions are inspired and supported by nature, while maintaining and enhancing natural capital. They are sustainable measures that simultaneously meet environmental and socio-economic objectives. We will focus on soil aquifer treatment coupled to managed aquifer recharge (MAR/SAT), constructed wetlands (CW) and bank filtration (BF) and their combinations with engineered pre- or post-treatments.
