Brussels and Cape Town 21 June 2020. The African Europe AERAP science data platform will organise the 7th in its series of webinars to foster science collaboration between African and the European Union. The webinar on 2 July will present the AERAP White Paper on future African EU science collaboration.

The AERAP platform is composed of data scientists from Africa and the European Union, drawn from academia, industry, and government bodies. The objective of the platform is to create a partnership to advance functional science capacity building in both continents to build a unique data science capacity and capability to address shared global challenges. In so doing, AERAP works to support the implementation of AU and EU policy objectives: Horizon Europe and NDICI are examples.

The seminar will take advantage of the preparations for the European Union's next research programme, Horizon Europe, as well as the context provided by the Neighbourhood, International Cooperation and Development Instrument, NDICI, scheduled to be launched on 1 January 2021.

The AERAP White Paper will focus on:

• SADC-AERAP COVID-19
