UAS4EUROPE High-level Evening Reception

Applied research is seen as a key driver for more innovation and therefore competitiveness, growth and jobs which are major priorities of the European Commission. Thus, research funding programmes are more and more designed to boost innovation, which actually creates ideal conditions for universities of applied sciences (UAS). However, UAS are still underrepresented in research funding at the European level.
Join a high-level panel discussion in order to shine a light on the reasons behind the current situation as well as to discuss possible new approaches. Our guests will be:
• Bernd Sibler, Bavarian State Secretary for Research
• Keith Sequeira, Senior Adviser to Commissioner Carlos Moedas
• Luciana Vaccaro, President of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland
• Talita Soares, Senior Policy Officer at EARTO
The evening reception addresses decision makers and researchers at UAS as well as stakeholders from universities, industry, politics, and public authorities. It will follow a daytime conference which is intended primarily for researchers and EU (policy) officers working at European UAS and which will take place in the Representation of the State of Hessen to the European Union, Rue Montoyer 21, 1000 Brussels.
