We shall discuss:

1) The issue of professional journalism & news dependency on advertising and the monopoly of the internet gatekeepers.
2) Biased and fake-news as an implication of promotion of only extreme contents by Social Media ranking engines and Google rank - only strong sentiment sells.
3) The growing polarization of news and online discourse (right/left, republican/democrat etc.) as an implication of both advertising, lobbying and algorithmic dissemination - social bubbles on social media and paid political content dissemination.
4) The major risks for modern democracies being affected by compromised media and profit-driven news & information dissemination.

We shall discuss the issues concentrating on 3 pillars:
- Media Convergence Impact
- Digital Infrastructure
- Policy Catch 22

Agenda and information with Zoom link will be sent to the registered participants.
The event will be also streamed on Compact project Facebook page.
