ONLINE Expert workshop ‘Experimental designs in social policy research: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats’
Social policy research, including social experiments as a valuable tool for studying causal effects, faces limitations related to scalability, generalisability, inherent heterogeneity, the complexity of social policy programmes, and the political and ethical reality. Open questions thus remain concerning the nature and methodology of such study.
This expert workshop will host keynote lectures as well as breakout sessions focused on participants’ experiences with experimental or quasi-experimental designs in social policy research. The main focus is on the applicability of social experiments.
