Papers needed for MARCOM 2000
MARCOM 2000 will cover communication and information technologies in the marine environment as well as evaluation of the economic impact of these technologies
During the workshop, major actors in the marine world will present the results of their initiatives and their plans for the future.
Some of the main topics that will be covered in the event are the following:
- communications and IT for ship operations;
- satellite services (broadband and narrowband) for the maritime sector and their applications;
- developments in vessel traffic management information systems;
- evolving telematic networks for ports;
- emerging information technologies for the training of seafarers;
- positioning and tracking of cargo in the maritime part of the logistical chain;
- new information technologies for the marine environment;
- GIS for marine environment- state of the art analyses and case studies;
- emerging systems for marine environmental data acquisition and dissemination;
- remote sensing for marine environmental protection, examples and applications.
Those wishing to present papers for one of these topics, or on a related subject are required to submit a short summary with a title and the name of the author. Demonstration scenarios are also welcome.
The summary and demonstration, which will be considered for approval by the workshop committee, should include the name, telephone, fax number and e-mail of the person in charge of the submission. E-mail submissions are preferred.
The summary should be forwarded not later than June 16, 2000 to the address below.
