The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) – The Management Unit of European Program Horizon 2020 in collaboration with General Directorate of Scientific Research (DGRS), organize an info-day fordoctoral school directors, research centers and head laboratories on the opportunities offered by the Horizon 2020 program in 'Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)' especially for the forthcoming calls ITN and RISE.

The info-day aims to inform the Tunisian scientific community about MSCA bottom-up approach that grants to researchers at all stages of their career, from PhD candidates to highly experienced researchers, and encourages worldwide, cross-sector and interdisciplinary mobility. Presentations will concern the two forthcoming calls:

i/ The Innovative Training Networks (ITN) aim to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early-stage researchers. ITN will raise the quality of research and doctoral training, extending the traditional academic research training setting and equipping researchers with the right combination of research related and transferable competences. Researchers will thus have enhanced career perspectives in both the academic and non-academic sectors.

ii/ The Research and Innovation Staff Exchanges (RISE) supports the development of partnerships in the form of a joint research and innovation project, aiming at knowledge sharing via international as well as intersectoral mobility, based on secondments of research and innovation staff (i.e. exchanges) with an in-built return mechanism: organisations in the network contribute directly to the implementation of the joint research and innovation activities by seconding and/or hosting eligible staff members. Networking activities, organisation of workshops and conferences should also be part of the projects.

This event will offer a testimonial of two successful project leaders in ITN and RISE and also an opportunity of coaching for the new applicants, as well as an honorable presentation regarding the opportunities for funding within 'Spreading Excellence & Widening participation' mechanisms supporting projects that create new or update existing centres of excellence in Widening countries through a coupling process with a leading scientific institutions, and strengthens a specific field of research in an emerging institution in a Widening country.
