The European Union Horizon 2020-funded EURASTiP project (http://eurastip.eu/(se abrirá en una nueva ventana)) brings together aquaculture partners from both Europe and south-east Asia, to create and strengthen international cooperation on sustainable aquaculture. One area of focus is aquaculture education and training.

EURASTiP’s first highly interactive workshop is centred on sharing innovative teaching methods, materials, and pedagogies in the aquaculture sector through collaboration between European and Asian educators. Innovative teaching is a necessity for all teachers to meet the educational needs of the new generations. Within the aquaculture sector we must ask ourselves; how can we move away from the old paradigm of teaching and learning and embrace newer more innovative approaches? The EURASTiP workshop will enable participants to benefit from the opportunities in this exciting area through sharing experiences and learning from each other.

This workshop will tackle stimulating topics such as best practice examples of innovative teaching and materials; real-life challenges and solutions experienced by educators in trying to implement innovative teaching; how a teacher can be innovative, and how aquaculture educators in Asia and Europe can collaborate in innovative teaching.
