PuRE (public funding and private returns to education), which studies the impact of public financial support on the labour market, is to hold a second user-oriented seminar in Lisbon, on 27 October, 2000.

It will be presenting final results and policy implications concerning private returns to education and their potential connection to wage inequality, and public funding systems and participation rates in schooling.

An eminent panel will discuss the PuRE results and their policy relevance. Prof Lord Richard Layard of Highgate will be commenting on the issues covered by PuRE in general and on the main results of the project in particular.
