FIREFOR 2001, the major international event covering forest fire extinction and prevention, will take place in Valencia, Spain, from 22 to 25 February next year.

The conference will cover four main issues

- regeneration of areas affected by forest fires
- making best use of forest resources
- new methods of extinction and prevention from around the globe
- mechanisation and security of available methods

Over 200 organisations will be present at the event, which, while maintaining a global focus, will give special attention to the Mediterranean area this year.
