Scientists and researchers looking for answers from the top will soon be able to quiz one of the UK's most influential science policy makers in an online question and answer session.

Sir Robert May, the UK's chief scientific adviser to the government and head of the office of science and technology, will address questions sent in to the nextwave.sciencemag.org website in October. The website has asked interested parties to send in questions that they can put to Sir Robert by 15 September and will be publishing his responses on the site in October.

Issues which are expected to feature high on the agenda are the recent announcement of 'extra cash for science' by the UK government, training requirements, support for academia and career structures for scientists.
