VRC launching in Dublin, Ireland
The Dublin VRC is hosted by the Irish Science and Technology Agency (EOLAS). This organization has extensive experience and expertise in the successful delivery of Community support through a range of programmes which complement the work of the centre. The agenda for the Open Day includes:
- Display of Community RTD programmes currently open for proposals (Third Framework Programme, 1990-1994);
- Demonstration of TDB (the EOLAS database of offers and requests for technologies from Irish companies).and of the European Community databases CELEX (EC law and related information), CORDIS (the group of databases of the Community Research and Development Information Service) and TED (Tenders Electronic Daily containing contract offers for public works and supply of services to public bodies in over 80 countries),
- The VALUE Relay Centre in the EEC (presentation by Mr. J. Hernandez-Ros, Head of Project, VALUE Relay Centre Coordination Unit, DG XIII/D-3);
- The VALUE Relay Centre at EOLAS (presentation by Mr. J. Brady, Head of the Dublin VALUE Relay Centre, EOLAS);
- Case studies of the commercialization of research results.
A panel discussion will close the presentations, followed by a reception.
The Irish VRC is one of 27 such Centres throughout Europe established under the centralized action for the dissemination and valorization of the results of Community RTD (VALUE II) to ensure that EC research benefits the economies of Member States.
