30 November 2000 - 30 November 2000

Robinson College, Cambridge, will host the Biotechnology and finance forum's next annual conference on 30 November and 1 December. The event aims to mobilise research, industry and finance stakeholders towards maintaining sustained growth and facilitating consolidation in the biotechnology sector.

The event brings together 24 established or start-up companies, as well as 18 leading financial experts, to discuss the future of the biotech industry in Europe and the business and finance opportunities that now exist.

The biotechnology and finance forum was established in 1997 by the European Commission and the European association of securities dealers (EASD) to enable the development of links between the research and industrial communities and the financial sphere with the knock-on effect of promoting and nurturing an environment for bio-entrepreneurs in Europe.

Speakers already booked for the event include Rainer Gerold, Director of Life Sciences at the Commission's Research DG, Alan Johnson, MP - British Minister for Competitiveness, Andrew Beeson, Chief executive of Beeson Gregory and Chairman of the EASD, and Alan Goodman, Chief executive , Avlar BioVentures.
