An Institute of Physics conference at the UK University of Bristol on 18 to 21 December will provide the stage for seven prize and plenary lectures from world-renowned researchers.

Presentations at the CMMP (condensed matter and materials physics) conference include 'principles and applications of coherent hard x-ray imaging' by a group of researchers at CERN, the European organisation for nuclear research and CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique).

A wide range of other issues will also be tackled, including brittle metals in rail tracks, quantum computing and nanoscale physics and technology.For further information concerning the conference, please consult the following website:
