Commissioner for Health and Consumer protection, David Byrne and Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural development and fisheries, Franz Fischler, will take part in a live Internet chat on food quality in Europe on 6 June between 6pm and 8pm (Central European Time).

The current discussion on food quality has covered many areas, including whether advanced technology and modern production methods can deliver tasty and wholesome food, whether intensive farming methods are really the source of recent problems and what quality actually is in relation to food.

Commissioners Byrne and Fischler have called for and open debate on these and other issues.

The discussion will take place in the 11 official languages of the EU. Questions may be put in any of those languages and may also be sent in advance to the address below.Questions may be sent in advance to:
