Spain to host Virtual World Congress

The first Virtual World Congress of entrepreneurs and SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) will run from 15 October this year to March 2002.

The congress is being organised by the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AIJEZ) in Zaragoza, Spain, in collaboration with the European Union, the Spanish government and the Aragon government.

It will use the latest in communication technology to offer a variety of interactive seminars, exhibitions and workshops. These 'events' can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at the click of a mouse. The workshops and workgroup debates will focus on issues of importance to entrepreneurs and SMEs.

The congress aims to:

- create a forum for debate and the exchange of experiences and ideas on problems facing young entrepreneurs and SMEs
- maximise commercial exchanges between participants
- promote an entrepreneurial culture in Europe and worldwide which is open to new digital developments
- encourage awareness and use of information technologies by young entrepreneurs
- share good business practice
