VACRO Day on CIME and IPSS project results
VACRO Days, a Commission initiative in the framework of the VALUE programme, aim to bring the practical results of Community research and technological development into an arena where they may be assessed and discussed by small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs), with a view to attracting interest in the commercial application of the results.
The present two-day event is organized by the Euro Info Centre at VDI/VDT Technologiezentrum Informationstechnik, Potsdam. It focuses on the results of a number of CIME (Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Engineering) and IPSS (Information Processing Systems and Software) projects from the ESPRIT programme. These projects have been carefully selected for the possibilities of application and commercial exploitation they offer SMEs.
Workshops will describe each project, and the representatives of SMEs present will be given opportunities for in-depth discussion with the organizations responsible for the projects. In order to permit such discussion, attendance at the VACRO Days will be limited to fifty persons.
In addition, the event will include an introduction to the Community's Fourth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (1994-1998) and a presentation on RTD in the Community, plus presentations on financial aspects related to technology and SMEs, together with practical advice on technology exploitation.
