The Pays de Thau Ecosite, with funding from the European Commission, is organising a European ECOLINK workshop, to take place on 23 and 24 June in West Jutland, Denmark.

The event will seek to answer two key questions: 'how do ecocentres contribute to local sustainable development?' and 'what research is needed to improve understanding of this role, to support its implementation, and to make corresponding public policies more efficient?'

To achieve this, participants will analyse the contexts in which ecocentres can be created or develop their activities, assess relevant aspects of recent local development research, and define the potential of ecosites in implementing European policies for sustainable local development.

From the discussion, organisers hope to produce a set of recommendations covering research requirements to support further understanding, local, regional and European policies, and the creation, development and operation of ecocentres.For further information, please consult the following web address:
