More final demonstrations are planned for projects under TELEMAN, the research and training programme (Euratom) in the field of remote handling in nuclear hazardous and disordered environments, 1989-1993.

The demonstrations are to take place during March-April 1994 at a date still to be decided. The projects will include:

- HAZMAP: A remote mapping system for hazardous environments using a digital photogrammetric workstation which produces images from various locations to create a computer-generated 3D model;

- SHERPA: Development of an autonomous six-legged walking robot able to intervene in hazardous situations where the environment is disordered, for example following accidents, capable of carrying a significant payload over various terrains and able to negotiate stairs, doors, damaged facilities, etc.

The demonstrations will be witnessed by members of the TELEMAN Users' Group, who provide feedback on the quality and usefulness of the research carried out within these projects.
