The European synchrotron radiation facility (ESRF) is organising a technology transfer workshop in Grenoble, France, on 2 February 2004.

Technology transfer is a complex and long term process that requires scientific, legal and human skills that may not all be necessary within a single company or research institute.

The ESRF is organising this workshop in order to improve the efficiency of technology transfer policies between European synchrotron facilities. The main themes for discussion include:
- preparing the ground for technology transfer;
- the technology transfer assessment;
