As its closing event, the Fifth Framework Programme project METASEP is organising an industry information workshop in Saarbrücken, Germany, on 20 February 2004, to present its results.

In the course of the project, a new technology for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with toxic metals was developed, which is especially relevant for industries struggling with large amounts of wastewater streams containing toxic metal cations or their oxyanions (metal working, semiconductor and copper industries, mine water treatment etc.).

The METASEP consortium has worked for the last two and a half years on the development of new bonding agents, membranes and separation processes to solve such problems and overcome the shortcomings of conventional treatment processes.For further information, please consult the following web address:
