A technology transfer workshop on "Industrial Vision and Autonomous Robots" is to take place in Leuven, Belgium on 9-10 June 1994. It is organized by the Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, in cooperation with the Flemish VALUE Relay Centre and the European Commission.

IVAR '93 involves nine RTD projects which have received EC support:

- B-LEARN II: Behavioural learning;
- COVIRA: Computer vision in radiology;
- ECVNet: European computer vision network;
- IMPRO: Industrial image processing;
- NAT: Non-linear and adaptive techniques in digital image processing;
- PHIDIAS: Laser photo polymerisation models based on medical imaging, a development improving the accuracy of surgery;
- SECOND: Sensory controlled dextrous robots;
- VAP II: Vision as process;
- VIVA: Viewpoint invariant visual acquisition.

The aim of the workshop is to stimulate interaction between basic research and both industrial and medical applications in the field of vision and autonomous robotics. Invited delegates from European industry will be informed about ongoing advanced research at European universities and research institutes, and about potential applications.

To this end, the workshop will offer a variety of parallel activities and sessions aiming to stimulate informal contacts and discussions. These will include tutorials, technical presentations, demonstrations and poster displays.
