A conference on mass movement hazards in various environments will take place in Krakow, Poland, on 20 and 21 October.
The conference is organised by the Polish Geological Institute and the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) centre of excellence REA (research on abiotic environments). The main topics of the conference are mass movements, hazards and risks; i.e. landslides, mudflows, rock falls and avalanches. The conference will review investigation methods (remote sensing, interferometry, GPS, GIS); mapping; forecasting; modelling and databases; monitoring and mitigation of these hazards.For further information, please:
