Conference on energy performance and indoor climate in buildings
The conference is being jointly organized by DG XII of the European Commission and ADEME (Environmental and Energy Management Agency, France). It will focus on advanced test methods, detailed simulation tools and simplified design and calculation instruments which are being developed for the evaluation and assessment of the thermal and solar performance of buildings and building components.
This conference will provide a forum for discussion of results from research and development projects in the fields of solar energy applications and rational use of energy in buildings. The conference is intended to inform the European building industry on the latest developments in research as well as the practical applications of new building products and evaluation instruments. It will also look at energy performance requirements in the construction industry throughout Europe.
The three-day conference will comprise full discussion sessions, keynote papers and a poster session. The topics for discussion will include the following:
- Thermal performance of buildings;
- Ventilation;
- Natural and innovative cooling techniques;
- Daylighting and energy;
- Urban climatology;
- Indoor air quality.
The conference is intended for construction engineers, building managers, architects and policy-makers.
