An event to explore the ways in which information and communication technologies (ICT) can contribute to sustainable development will take place in Valenciennes, France, on 28 and 29 March. The event will examine EU policy, emerging citizen initiatives and the democratic process, open source software, how the ICT industry can help to combat climate change, poor health and sanitation.

Speakers over the two days will include representatives from the World Bank, UNESCO, the European Commission, the WWF and other prominent bodies for comment and debate and a series of workshops.

The event will be of interest to those in the ICT industry, and those wanting to explore ways in which their business can take advantage of technology to assist in sustainable development and minimise ecological impact. For further information, please contact Alexandra Debaisieux
