The Commission programme to help disabled people, TIDE, will host a workshop in Moscow on 26-27 May 1994.

The workshop is being organized by the TIDE programme (Technology Initiative for Disabled and Elderly people) in conjunction with the Russian Association of the Blind. The workshop will present the activities of the Commission which support research for disabled and elderly people and in particular for blind and partially sighted people. The programme for the two-day event will include the following:
- Presentation of TIDE, INTAS and COPERNICUS research programmes and projects;
- Round table on advanced rehabilitation technology (RT) research topics for blind and partially sighted people;
- Presentation of the following TIDE projects: VISA, TACIS, ASMONC, GUIB, ACCESS, CAPS, MATHS, OPEN, ARMONY and AUDETEL.

The organizations which will participate in the workshop are users organizations, research institutions, universities as well as Russian and Eastern European organizations who need to familiarize themselves with the general workings of the Commission in this area and of the TIDE programme in particular. The workshop will also provide an opportunity for increased cooperation between interested organizations in Russia and Eastern Europe.
