A technology transfer day on the subject of "Rapid methods for food analysis and authentication" will take place in Dublin on 7 July 1994.
The event is being organized by the Irish VALUE Relay Centre, Forbairt, in collaboration with the National Food Centre. The event will allow coordinators and contractors of ongoing and recently completed Community-funded research to meet with industry representatives and exchange information. Presentations at the event will cover the following areas:
- Food analysis and authentication by near-infra-red spectroscopy (National Food Centre, Ireland);
- Food analysis and authentication by mid-infra-red spectroscopy (Institute for Food Research, UK);
- Food authenticity (SNIF-NMR Ceais, France).

The event will examine the context of new scientific developments and consider ways in which future collaboration and technology transfer might take place to the benefit of both Irish and European food industries.
