A workshop entitled 'Explaining Framework Seven' will be held in Cambridge, UK, on 1 December 2006.

First Calls for proposals under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) are expected at the end of 2006. Technical scope, participation rules and administrative procedures are currently being finalised by the Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Member States. While there are promises of continuity from FP6, the draft documents include new initiatives and changes to existing rules.

This workshop provides an in-depth view of the programme. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions at any time and consolidate their learning through practical exercises. The workshop will also describe the European Technology Platforms and how they are influencing the technical scope of FP7.

The event is aimed at research managers and EU research funding advisors who are already familiar with FP6 and who are looking to gain a full understanding of what is new in FP7.For more information, please visit:
