A lecture on 'Avoiding a web of confusion - Innovation in Information Technology' will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 21 November.

Organised by the European Parliament's Scientific Technology Options Assessment (STOA), under the patronage of Josep Borrell, President of the European Parliament, the fifth annual lecture will be given by Dr Phil Janson of IBM Research.

A workshop on the related topic of the 'Development of Internet Technology: Human rights, freedom of expression and the protection of the vulnerable population' is scheduled just before the STOA annual lecture. There will also be an exhibition by the Joint Research Centre on open source information analysis.For more information, please visit:
