The final seminar of the EU-funded EUROPAC ('European optimised pantograph catenary interface') project will be held in Paris, France, on 14 December.

EUROPAC was set up by the European railway industry. The project aims to enhance the interoperability between pantographs and catenaries throughout Europe, decrease the number of incidents related to this system, and reduce maintenance costs by improving preventive maintenance and diminishing corrective maintenance.

For that purpose, EUROPAC has developed a comprehensive system composed of joint interoperable software, an on-board monitoring system and a track-side monitoring station. The EUROPAC software is designed to predict the interoperability between any present and future pantograph and catenary.

Presentations and demonstrations of the tools developed within the EUROPAC project to reach these objectives will be performed at the EUROPAC Final Seminar. A film on the project and its main achievements will be presented for the first time.For more information, please visit:
