The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organising the third international Seville conference on future-oriented technology analysis on 16 and 17 October in Seville, Spain.

Launched under the title of 'Impacts and implications for policy and decision making - Future-oriented Technology Analysis (FTA) ', the conference is aimed at enabling FTA experts, practitioners, and policy and decision makers to bring together ideas and knowledge in an interactive environment in order to make FTA more policy relevant.

Overall conference themes include research and innovation, new approaches to governance, security and sustainability, farming and food systems, regional infrastructure, energy and nanotechnologies and bio-security. Specific presentations are designed to highlight practical examples of FTA, such as:
- defining and supporting a region's future development in agriculture;
- anticipating environmental needs;
- identifying new priorities fields and themes in research and technology.

Two workshops will also be held to discuss how network building and evaluating FTA can be improved.For further information, please visit:
