A seminar on commercialising carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies in the EU and Japan will be organised in Brussels, Belgium, on 12 November.

With a view to developing regulatory frameworks and trial projects, the seminar will attempt to:
- provide an overview of the legislation to promote and regulate the use of CCS technology in the EU and Japan;
- explain the strategies of the EU and Japan in relation to demonstration projects and how they might be financed;
- get an industrial perspective from an EU power company, a Japanese CCS technology producer and an EU company involved with CCS projects in China;
- facilitate a dialogue on CCS issues between regulators and industry from the EU and Japan.

The half-day event will bring together EU and Japanese officials and key actors from industry, industrial associations, research, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and elsewhere.For further information, please visit:
