Hearing on the European Values Study, Brussels, Belgium
The group of the European People's Party and European Democrats (EPP-ED) in the European Parliament will hold a hearing on European values, regional identity and intercultural dialogue on 11 December in Brussels, Belgium.
The hearing is dedicated to a first public presentation of initial 2008 findings of the European Values Study (EVS), a large-scale, cross-national and longitudinal survey research programme, which provides insights into the ideas, beliefs, preferences, attitudes, values and opinions of citizens all over Europe. Following data collection efforts in 1981, 1990 and 1999, the EVS' fourth data collection wave took place in 2008. Data have been collected in most European countries.
EVS data are used for scientific research, policy research and educational purposes. Insight in changing values is of interest to a broad audience, from social scientists to politicians, managers, church and political leaders, trade unions, and to all Europeans.For further information, please click:
