Flanders region to meet candidate Member States

Austria, Sweden, Finland and Norway will soon participate as fully-fledged partners in the Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development. In this context, the Flemish VALUE Relay Centre is organizing a seminar entitled "Flanders meets the candidate Member States", to be held in Antwerp, Belgium, on 26 October 1994.

The seminar aims at bringing together people who are responsible for the conception, implementation and evaluation of science and technology policies and for the distribution of information (administration, universities, research institutes, company federations, major enterprises, and VALUE Relay Centres).

The four candidate Member States and the Flanders region will present an overview of their RTD potential and their science policies. Special attention will be paid to the involvement of their research communities in the RTD programmes of the European Union. General policy frameworks, policy instruments (exploitation, partner search, support mechanisms) as well as sectoral policies will be highlighted.
