A conference on the future of public health and the pharmaceutical industry in Europe will take place in Brussels on 6 October 1994.
The conference will examine the development of European public health policy and consider the priorities for the Member States. The competitiveness of the pharmaceutical sector in Europe will also be discussed in light of Commissioner Bangemann's proposal for the implementation of a European industrial policy for the pharmaceutical sector, which was put forward in March 1994.
The conference will be addressed by European Commission officials responsible for pharmaceutical products and consumer goods industries from DG III (Industry).
