Call information day FP7-AFRICA-2010, Brussels, Belgium

The European Commission is organising an information day on the upcoming Africa call for proposals of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) on 18 September in Brussels, Belgium.

The event is scheduled to be opened by European Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik and a representative from the African Union. Following that, the morning session will give an overview of the EU-Africa strategic partnership in the research field and ongoing activities in support of Africa carried out by the Research Directorate-General. It will also highlight the rationale of the call, modalities for implementation, and presentations of the different topics, namely:
- 'Water and food security';
- 'Better health for Africa'.

The afternoon session will go into more detail on both of these themes in two parallel sessions. The event will be rounded off by a brokerage session with the opportunity for participants to present their project ideas.For further information, please download the programme of the info day here:
