The Irish VALUE Relay Centre, Forbairt, is organizing an event dedicated to the exploitation of research results in the field of smart cards. It will take place in Dublin on 2 November 1994.

The event will take the form of a VALUE technology transfer day. Its aim is to favour the development and industrial exploitation of technologies, products and know-how stemming from the Community's ESPRIT, DRIVE and AIM programmes.

The event, which will bring together companies and research centres from the Netherlands, England and Norway, is divided into three thematic sessions covering different areas of application for smart cards:

- The payment systems market;
- The transportation market;
- The health-care market.

Four projects considered ready for exploitation and of interest to local industry will be presented.
