A Training Course on Radiation Protection of the Patient will take place on 8-12 May 1995 in Berlin. It is organized within the framework of the Community ERPET (European radiation protection education and training) programme in order to promote, maintain and extend Community expertise in radiation protection.

Course topics will include:

- The role of international agencies in the protection of the patient (WHO, IAEA);
- Radiation exposure of the patient in diagnostic radiology;
- Dose reduction techniques;
- Clinical dosimetry and treatment planning;
- Quality assurance at the patient level;
- Nuclear medicine equipment and imaging techniques;
- Visits to hospitals for demonstrations and practical exercises in radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine.

The course is aimed at all those working in alliance with medical staff in hospitals or health-care institutions or who are responsible for the radiation protection of patients.
