Radiation protection and medicine

A conference entitled "Radiation protection and medicine" will take place in Montpellier, France, on 28-30 June 1995.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics in the area of radiation protection in medicine ranging from the biological consequences of exposure to radiation to regulatory aspects. The conference will also review the latest developments in the practical management of radiation protection principles with particular emphasis on the protection of the patient in radiodiagnosis, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine as well as optimizing protection of medical workers exposed to ionizing radiation.

The conference will cover the following topics:
- New trends in radiobiology;
- Radiation protection in hospitals;
- Medical management of accidental radiation;
- Health impact of the Chernobyl accident;
- International and regulatory aspects.
