After last year's success, the European Commission will hold a second European Week for Scientific Culture on 21-25 November 1994.

The 1994 Week has three aims:

- To promote, at European level, knowledge and understanding of science and technology by the general public, and to put the general public more in touch with the world of research and science;
- To improve Europeans' awareness of the specifically European dimension of science and technology;
- To foster, on a European scale, cooperation between scientific culture professionals, researchers, heads of public relations in research bodies, and science professors.

This year, the European dimension of the various activities will be even more pronounced. The Week will combine communication activities and debates, as well as seminars aimed specifically at science teachers and conferences on the different social and cultural aspects of science and technology in Europe. A total of 23 exhibitions, events or projects are planned, and two new topics for discussion, polar research and tropical research, will be introduced.

The 23 events planned are listed below, including event title, nature of event, dates, organizer and country, contact person, and telephone and fax numbers.
