A conference entitled 'Positive visions for biodiversity' will be held from 16 to 19 November 2010 in Brussels, Belgium.

Biodiversity is the term which is often used to describe the degree of variation of life forms within a given ecosystem. Researchers often use biodiversity as a measure of the health of an area, ecosystem and biome.

This event will look at the potential for a future where the focus is no longer on dramatic losses and catastrophic scenarios, but on the extraordinary natural wealth found on the Earth. During the conference, participants will discuss the possibility of creating an ambitious vision for the future of biodiversity conservation. The results will outline potential paths through the next critical years of biodiversity work, while establishing achievable targets for policy and research. For further information, please visit: http://www.biodiversity.be/epbrsbe2010(opens in new window)
