IDATE '94: The new frontier in telecommunications, information technology and audiovisual media

An international conference on telecommunications, information technology and audiovisual media, IDATE '94, will take place in Montpellier, France, on 16-18 November 1994. Subtitled "The new frontier", it will examine the latest in telecommunications, information technology and audiovisual media and provide a strategic analysis of the world's communications groups. It is supported by the Community's FAST programme for forecasting and assessment in science and technology.

The event will provide opportunities for contacts between major industrial group leaders, users, clients, researchers, academics, administrators, and politicians.

The following sessions will take place:

- New forums for Key technologies;
- The electronic market place and international trade;
- Technologies versus uses;
- The future as seen by the telecommunications industry;
- Privatization and deregulation;
- Interactive television and video;
- The markets of Asia and Central and Eastern Europe.

Two seminars will be held on:

- Forms of cooperation in the age of the information superhighway;
- International economy, regulation and the decision-making process.
