Second International Workshop on Protocols and Applications with Multi-Homing Support, Fukuoka, Japan
Internet network transport protocols, such as TCP/IP, were designed under the assumption that an endpoint is connected to a single network and has one address. With the emergence of applications like e-commerce, e-health and emergency services, there is increasing demand for multiple endpoints. This means that systems are connected to several networks, which supports overall reliability.
Managing this kind of system is technically challenging, for both applications and underlying protocols. Recent research has led to breakthroughs such as the Multi-Path TCP (MPTCP), which adds multi-homing functionalities to the standard TCP protocol.
The event will bring together stakeholders from research and industry in order to provide a discussion forum for topics related to multi-homing on network, transport, session and application layers. For further information, please visit: http://www.tdr.wiwi.uni-due.de/en/workshops/pams-2012/(opens in new window)
