An event highlighting the award of the EARTO Innovation Prize 2011 will take place on 7 December 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.

EARTO is the European Association of Research and Technology Organizations. Research and technology organisations (RTOs) are specialised entities dedicated to the development and transfer of science and technology to help address the grand challenges confronting society.

The EARTO Innovation Prize is awarded in recognition of an organisation's contribution to an innovation of significant economic and/or social impact. The final selection is made on the basis of an open competition adjudicated by an independent jury.

The programme will feature a keynote speech by the Director General of DG Research and Innovation, Robert-Jan Smits, about the future direction of European research and innovation policies. The event will be followed by a cocktail reception. For further information, please visit: http://www.earto.eu/earto-innovation-prize/earto-innovation-prize-2011(opens in new window)
