Third Student Conference on Operational Research, Nottingham, UK
Operations research is an interdisciplinary mathematical science that focuses on a wide range of problem-solving techniques and methods applied in the pursuit of improved decision-making and efficiency.
Using techniques from other mathematical sciences, the field tries to generate solutions to complex decision-making problems. Because of its emphasis on human-technology interaction and practical applications, operations research has overlap with other disciplines, notably industrial engineering and operations management, and draws on psychology and organisational science.
The event will provide a friendly environment for doctoral candidates to develop their presentation skills, receive constructive feedback on their work and meet other students with similar interests. For further information, please visit: http://www.scor2012.com/(opens in new window)
